International Women's Day 2017
We welcome Dr Chamundeshwari Kuppuswamy, a scholar in Bharatanatyam dance and inspirational speaker, to present a lecture demonstration on storytelling aspects of traditional Indian dance.
Activities include varieties of beautiful dance presentations from different parts of India with music and singing.
The event will also celebrate 20 years of Annapurna Dance's commitment to engaging communities and culture through a legacy exhibition.
Anusha Subramanyam Dance Workshop
Annapurna Indian Dance is proud to welcome dancer Anusha Subramanyam, dance artist, teacher, choreographer and dance movement therapist to work with our regular Bharatanatyam students.
Anusha is an alumni of Kalakshetra college of Fine Arts , Chennai, India and the director of programmes for the project called YUVA GATI from the Centre for Advanced Training, funded by the Department of Education’s Music and Dance scheme . As part of their outreach programme the CAT have offered us this FREE workshop at the Orange Box Youth Centre.
The duration of the workshop is two hours which includes a session on body conditioning especially relevant to the Bharatanatyam style and a session on technique as well as some creative learning.
