RAMAYANA- The Ancient Splendour - 2009
Annapurna dancers proudly brought alive India’s most popular and well loved epic -the wonderfully rich and enchanting story of the brave Prince Rama and his beautiful wife Sita.
|
The evening(s) was a grand celebration of the colourful pageantry of Prince Rama’s life.
The joys of celebration, of his wedding, the sadness of the long exile to the forest, the abduction of his wife and his victory over the evil ten headed king Ravana -all brought alive through traditional dancing and storytelling with puppetry, masks, stunning costumes and original music.
This performance was an adventurous journey to ancient and mystic India and celebrated the true spirit of Diwali – The festival of Indian lights with colours, movement, rhythms and expression!
